In 1893 the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood, Oklahoma was established.
The building has been rebuilt at least once, on the original site.
We care about one another and pray for one another. Sunday morning services, Wednesday evening Bible study, choir practice, youth meetings, Methodist Women’s group, the men’s fellowship group…we have something for everyone.
We enjoy being actively involved in the community too; you will find us supporting the teachers with our annual Teachers’ Breakfast, our student athletes with a football breakfast, and whatever is going on in the community, you will find us supporting and helping out.
Come as you are to our Sunday morning worship service. We share joys and concerns and prayers. We welcome and enjoy having children in church; about midway through the service our pastor has a time for children meet down front at the sanctuary for a moment just for them, and then they are invited to go to Children’s Church. The children return to the sanctuary just before the closing of the service and rejoin their parents for the benediction.
We have Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month during worship. In The United Methodist Church we practice an open table, where all are welcome to share in this sacrament.
We seek to be faithful to God in all we do. The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, for the transformation of the world.
We welcome all to come and join us the journey.
